Now i have to admit, Matcha has never been my go to energy source. If I want a dose of caffeine, coffee will forever and always be my first choice. However, I like trying new things and even though matcha isn’t new, it was for me about a year ago. During my 200hr yoga teacher training at Razz Yoga, my lead yoga teacher, Yogini Kali Om introduced the idea of using matcha powder in her morning smoothie. I love trying new things (especially if they offer health benefits), so the next day I went out, bought some matcha powder and created this green colored smoothie my teacher raved about. Over the year I’ve added and subtracted from her original recipe to curate one to my liking. I think it tastes like a creamy, dreamy dessert like smoothie, but I’ll let you be the judge. I also just have to mention the health benefits you’ll reap from drinking this dream of a smoothie. It’s packed with fiber, healthy fats and calcium. If you enjoy matcha then you’ll definitely love this recipe!
